SAN FERNANDO (CBSLA.com) — A woman pleaded not guilty Thursday to abusing her pit bull in her home near Lancaster, the Los Angeles County district attorney's office announced.
Desiree Lenore Martinez, 41, was charged with two counts each of cruelty to an animal with the allegations that she used a rock and shoelaces as deadly and dangerous weapons.
Martinez was arrested Monday after her pit bull mix was found hardly able to move with injuries to its head and eyes, according to the district attorney's office.
