Suspected ‘Red Hoodie Bandit’ Arrested In San Bernardino

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Thursday announced the arrest of a man suspected of robbing several fast food restaurants and gas stations in the Inland Empire.

The suspected “red hoodie bandit,” who has been identified as Mark Anthony Toney, was arrested Wednesday in the 4000 block of East Highland in San Bernardino.

Toney, 26, is accused of conducting armed robberies in San Bernardino, Redlands, Rialto, Rancho Cucamonga, Montclair and Pomona during the months of January and February, according to the San Bernardino Police Department.

“The suspect was armed with a handgun and either displayed or pointed the gun at the victims during the commission of the crimes,” the department said in a statement.

Detectives located evidence from the alleged crimes during Toney’s arrest.

Toney, who was on probation, was previously convicted of possessing a firearm.

He faces 10 separate charges of armed robbery, but authorities say more charges will likely be filed.

No other details were immediately released.
