Lil Za Appears In Court On Drug Charges Stemming From Raid At Bieber's Home

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A friend and housemate of pop singer Justin Bieber appeared before a judge Tuesday on drug charges.

Xavier Domonique Smith, 20, also known as rapper "Lil Za," faces two counts of drug possession and one count of prison or jail damage.

Smith did not enter a plea Tuesday and will return to court on March 6.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, deputies found Smith with ecstasy and Oxycodone when they raided Bieber's Calabasas mansion on Jan. 14.

Deputies were searching the home for evidence in connection with an egging incident that caused an estimated $20,000 in damage to a neighbor's home on Jan. 9.

The charge of prison or jail damage stems from Smith's alleged vandalism of a jail phone following his arrest.
