HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say police were searching for two men who tried to force their way into a Huntington Beach home on Saturday evening.

The incident occurred at a home in the 6200 block of Royalist Drive around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a police report.

City News Service reports that a resident had heard someone ringing her doorbell but did not answer. A short time later, she saw two men jump over her side fence and into her backyard.

Authorities said the suspects then tried to get into her home at which point she called the police.

The suspects were described as two black men between the ages of 18 and 22. They reportedly fled in a small, gray sport utility vehicle.

Anyone with information about this case was asked to call Huntington Beach police detectives (714) 960-8811.
