Probe In Santa Ana Beating Victim's Death Stalled

SANTA ANA (AP) — Police say they are having trouble investigating a nightclub fight that left a 23-year-old woman dead because many of the victim's friends won't talk to them.

Investigators told the Los Angeles Times on Sunday they have only identified one of the eight friends who were with 23-year-old Kim Pham that night.

Pham, of Huntington Beach, was taken off life support last week after the fight outside the Santa Ana hot spot The Crosby.

Two women have been arrested in her death and police are seeking a third.

Police Commander Tim Vu, the highest-ranking Vietnamese-American law enforcement officer in Orange County, says distrust of the government is still common among refugees who arrived in the area after the Vietnam War.
