Fit Expo Wants To Pump You Up This Weekend

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The 11th annual Fit Expo is being held this weekend in Los Angeles.

More than 40,000 fit, buff, built and fat-challenged folks are expected to take part in the annual fitness and workout extravaganza.

The weekend (presented by Bodybuilding.com, Body Fortress and Subway Restaurants) has demonstrations, meet-and-greets, Q&A sessions, exhibits, seminars and a lot of people walking around showing off their six packs. Event organizers say there will also be 450 exhibits showing off the latest exercise equipment, food products, nutrition advice and a "Healthy Eating Pavilion" that will even feature high-protein ice cream.

More than 1,000 athletes from around the world will also square off in strength and endurance challenges in competitions ranging from weightlifting, bench press, Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling and adult cross fit.

Attendees can win cash prizes and there will also be kid-friendly competitions in jump roping, as well as a kids play area.

Celebrities on the bill include "Biggest Loser" trainer Jillian Michaels, Mr. Olympia Phil Heath, Brian Shaw AKA "The World's Strongest Man," UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz and  Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, UFC legend turned actor.

The weekend (Sat. 10 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. and Sun. 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.) is held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, South Halls G, H, J. (1201 South Figueroa Street.)
