4 Adults, 1 Juvenile Arrested For Stabbing 2 People At Santa Monica Pier During Brawl
SANTA MONICA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities have arrested 4 adults and 1 juvenile for the attempted murder of two people who were repeatedly stabbed during a wild brawl on the Santa Monica Pier.
The stabbing incident reportedly occurred around 1:20 a.m. Saturday.
According to witnesses, the five people in custody (four males and one female) began arguing with the two victims, both of whom had been fishing at the far west end of the pier.
The argument escalated at which time the suspect allegedly stabbed the victims multiple times in the arms and torso.
The suspects fled walking east on the pier. Officers observed a group of individuals on the pier that matched the description of the suspects and detained them.
Habor Service Officers rendered first aid until paramedics with the Santa Monica Fire Department arrived.
The victims were transported to a local trauma center. The more seriously injured of the two victims was immediately sent to surgery. Both victims are in stable condition and expected to survive.
Police said all five of the suspects were booked for attempted homicide. Four of the suspects are adults and bail was set at $1,000,000 each. for each. The fifth suspect is a minor. He was booked into juvenile hall without bail.
The four adult suspects have been identified as follows:
Araik Ovoian, 24 years old, of Burbank
Gevork Bagdasaryan, 19 years old, of Burbank
Alex Akob Akbari, 18 years old, of Burbank
Agavni Manukyan, 21 years old, of Glendale
The juvenile is 16 and a Burbank resident.
