Fire Sprinkler Mishap Floods Portion Of Golden Globes Red Carpet
BEVERLY HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Crews in Beverly Hills worked quickly to dry out a portion of the Golden Globes red carpet following a fire sprinkler mishap on Sunday afternoon.
Shortly after 1 p.m., word spread via social media that a fire sprinkler had caused a mess hours before the awards show telecast.
Radio personality, television host, and producer Ryan Seacrest (@RyanSeacrest) shared a photo of the damp red carpet on his official Twitter account just after 1:40 p.m., stating, "Could be bad for long gowns #eredcarpet."
KNX 1070's Margaret Carrero also tweeted that the Beverly Hilton and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association® had confirmed that a sprinkler malfunction had occurred on the red carpet.
The situation was quickly resolved, according to Carrero.
The banquet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel was slated to begin at 5 p.m.
