Armed Robbery Suspects Captured After IE Police Pursuit
RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — Police captured two armed robbery suspects after a pursuit in the Inland Empire Monday night.
The incident started in Highland sometime around 8 p.m. after the men allegedly robbed an AT&T store.
Authorities chased the suspects, who were in a white Lexus, on the westbound 60 Freeway in Riverside.
Shortly before 9 p.m., the driver transitioned to the southbound 15 Freeway toward San Diego and passed through Mira Loma, Norco and Corona.
The pursuit then moved to surface streets in Riverside, where the suspects' vehicle spinned out of control on spike strips. The motorist fled into a neighborhood, but both men were eventually arrested.
KCAL9's Crystal Cruz reported that one of the men was being extremely uncooperative.
Earlier in the incident, the motorist was not speeding erratically and was using his turn signal, as well as stopping at traffic lights and stop signs, Sky9's Gordon Spencer reported.
The suspects also appeared to throw things out of the vehicle.
