2 Wounded In Deputy-Involved Shooting In Monrovia
MONROVIA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say two people have been wounded in a deputy-involved shooting in Monrovia.
The incident unfolded about 1:20 a.m. Sunday after authorities say they spotted a man with a gun at Ivory and Galen streets in the city of Duarte.
Shortly after, authorities say the man entered a car and a brief pursuit ensued.
The 30-second chase ended when the vehicle crashed in the 2400 block of El Toro Road.
That's when authorities say one of the suspects allegedly brandished a weapon, prompting deputies to open fire.
Two suspects -- described as Hispanic men -- were wounded. Both were transported to an area hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
No deputies were hurt.
The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department said in a statement that a weapon believed to belong to one of the suspects was found at the scene.
No further information was available.
