WATTS (CBSLA.com) — A 54-year-old man was stabbed to death Christmas Day in South Los Angeles, authorities said.
Police were called shortly after 11 a.m. to East 105th Street and Wilmington Avenue, in Watts, by the victim’s stepdaughter the LAPD reported.
The victim, Nery Ambrosio, was reportedly stabbed in the back with a power tool in one of the family’s bedrooms.
The victim’s 23-year-old stepson was arrested on suspicion of murder. After reportedly getting into an intense argument with his mother, he allegedly began to assault her, at which point Ambrosio is said to have intervened to defend her.
Ambrosio had been married to the mother for 20 years.
The crime remains under investigation.
