DUARTE (CBSLA.com) — With just three days left before Christmas, many retailers opened early this weekend.

And a lot of retailers are staying open as long as possible to entice last-minute shoppers that they are offering the best deals in town.

About three dozen early-bird shoppers lined up outside of a Best Buy store in Duarte ahead of the Play Station 4 launch. Doors opened at 7 a.m. on Sunday.

“I’ve never experienced a midnight release here. It’s really fun but tiring because it is cold also,” said Alan De La Vega, a Monrovia resident.

Several other stores throughout the Los Angeles-area also opened early.

Macy’s, Kohl’s, and Toys R Us are among some of the big chains keeping many locations open around-the-clock until Tuesday night.

Sunday night, KCAL9’s Rachel Kim ventured out and found that a lot of stores were doing brisk business, and not just the major retailers.

According to a recent customer survey, many shoppers are still waiting till the 11th hour expecting even bigger sales and bargains.

As many as 10% of shoppers said they are waiting until Christmas Eve to get all their shopping done.
