Public's Help Sought In Identifying Alleged Doughnut Shop Robber

TORRANCE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Friday asked for the public's help in identifying and locating a man accused of viciously attacking the female clerk of a doughnut shop during an apparent robbery.

The incident involving the lone suspect happened at a Yum Yum Donuts in the 17200 block of Prairie Avenue during after-hours on Nov. 27.

After entering the business, Torrance police say the suspect, described as a black male, forced the female employee into a backroom where he proceeded to stab her multiple times.

The victim was treated by first responders at the scene but was subsequently taken to an area hospital where she was stabilized. Her current condition was not known.

The suspect was further described by authorities as a six-foot-tall male between the age of 30 and 40. He was seen in video footage wearing an orange shirt, khaki pants, a dark blue baseball cap, and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with more information about the suspect or his whereabouts was asked to contact detectives at the Torrance Police Department by calling (310) 618-5571.
