Man, 77, Killed In 2-Vehicle Collision In Huntington Beach

HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a 77-year-old Huntington Beach resident was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Saturday night.

The 8:45 p.m. accident happened on Newland Street and Talbert Avenue.

According to investigators, the elderly victim, identified as a man, was driving a silver 2005 Nissan Altima that was traveling westbound on Talbert Avenue when it collided with a silver 1999 Toyota 4Runner.

The man sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the accident site.

The driver of the Toyota, identified as a 51-year-old woman from Fountain Valley, was taken to UCI Medical Center with moderate injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
