DUI Motorist Accused Of Killing 28-Year-Old Commerce Woman In 60 Freeway Crash

MONTEBELLO (CBSLA.com) — A 28-year-old Commerce resident was killed in Montebello Sunday morning allegedly by a drunk driver on the 60 Freeway.

The victim has been identified as Lidia Ortega.

Ortega and a male friend were two backseat passenger in a 2001 Acura who were both ejected after the crash. The driver and other passenger were transported to the hospital with moderate to major injuries, according to authorities.

The driver of the car that is believed to have caused the crash was arrested at the scene, said officials. The suspect's identity has not been revealed.

The crash was reported just before 1:40 a.m. on the eastbound 60 just west of Paramount Boulevard.
