Suspected Serial Tire Slasher In Cypress Arrested
CYPRESS (CBSLA.com) — A man police say has slashed the tires of more than 30 cars in Cypress since February is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
Michael Holmes, 46, is in custody on $110,000 bail after his arrest on Nov. 21. Police say a residential surveillance camera caught Holmes in the act of vandalism.
Between Feb. 17 and Sept. 2, there were numerous reports of tires being slashed in the south-end of the city – near the area of Valley View Street and Orangewood Avenue, according to the Cypress Police Department. During that time, a total of 31 victims were located and damage to vehicles exceeded $8,000, according to police.
