Melvin Ingram Returns To Practice With Chargers

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Linebacker Melvin Ingram has returned to the practice field with an impact that left rookie Manti Te'o on his backside.

Ingram was back at practice Wednesday for the first time since tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in May.

During a blocking drill early in practice, Ingram went up against Te'o, who was holding a large pad. Ingram hit Te'o so hard that it lifted the rookie off his feet and knocked him onto his backside.

Says Ingram: "I didn't even mean to. Just being anxious to be back out there and just do something you love."

The Chargers have until Dec. 10 to either add Ingram to the active roster or keep him on the physically unable to perform list.

Ingram was a first-round draft pick in 2012.

CBS2 will televise the game at 10 a.m.
