ANAHEIM ( — A large water main break caused a geyser in Orange County on Friday evening.

The 36-inch main rupture occurred around 5 p.m. at La Palma Avenue near Grove Street at a northeast corner in Anaheim.

Firefighters cordoned off La Palma Avenue in both directions while contemplating how to turn off the large column of water.

It was not immediately clear what caused the rupture. The Anaheim Water Department was investigating.

No further information was immediately available.
