Skeletal Remains Found In Shallow Graves Outside Victorville

VICTORVILLE (CBSLA.com) — San Bernardino County Sheriff's investigators Wednesday continued excavating the skeletal remains of several people found in at least two grave sites outside of Victorville.

The remains were found by a motorcyclist Monday morning between Quarry Road near Highway 15 in the desert, officials said.

Investigators believe the remains of more than one person were found in the area.

"We currently have personnel from sheriff's homicide as well as the coroner's division and our crime scene investigative division that are on location. They are currently excavating two grave sites," spokeswoman Jodi Miller said.

Investigators were also looking at a third location, however, no remains were located.

The age and gender of the remains are unknown, pending examination by a forensic anthologist.
