LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Educational publishing company Scholastic announced Wednesday that it will cease shipments of a popular children’s book that omits Israel on a map of the Middle East.

Thea Stilton and the Blue Scarab Hunt, which is part of the Geronimo Stilton series, includes a map of Egypt that shows other surrounding countries, including Libya, Sudan, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

“Scholastic is immediately stopping shipment on this title, revising the map, and going back to reprint. We regret the omission which was in the original version of the book published in Italy and was translated by our company for English language distribution. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter,” the company said in a statement.

The book is about three sisters who are invited to Egypt for an archaeological excavation.
