Good Samaritan Helps Authorities Nab Suspected Hit-And-Run Driver In Acton
ACTON (CBSLA.com) — A Good Samaritan is being credited with helping authorities capture an alleged hit-and-run motorist in Acton.
Jason Frank of Acton was arrested without incident on suspicion of drunken driving following the early morning crash allegedly involving his 1996 Honda Civic and a pedestrian.
The accident happened around 1:45 a.m. at Sierra Highway and Crown Valley Road.
“As Mr. Frank was entering traffic on Sierra Highway, he struck Mr. Nicholas Brooks who was walking near the sidewalk.” CHP Officer Monica Posada told KNX 1070’s Bob Brill.
Frank allegedly then fled.
According to the CHP, a female driver followed the Civic to an Acton apartment and alerted authorities.
Frank was arrested just before 4 a.m., authorities said.
Brooks was treated at the scene by first responders but refused a ride to an area hospital.
