Brothers Arrested In Riverside County Murder

HIGHGROVE (CBSLA.com) — A pair of brothers have been arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man in Highgrove, authorities said.

Walter Avila, 23, of Rialto, and his 19-year-old brother, Brayan Avila, of Fontana, were arrested Monday night in connection with a murder in the 3200 block of Viola Court in the unincorporated community of Highgrove in Riverside County.

Deputies responding to a report of assault with a deadly weapon early Monday morning found 20-year-old Fidel Solano of Riverside in the driveway of the residence with puncture wounds, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Todd Torrenti said. It's unclear what Solano was stabbed with.

Solano was taken to Riverside Community Hospital, where he died. Detectives identified Walter Avila and his younger brother Bryaan as suspects and arrested them in Jurupa Valley later that night, Torrenti said.

Both men have been booked on suspicion of murder and were charged Wednesday by the Riverside County District Attorney's Office. Both are being held without bail.
