SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A woman gave birth early Wednesday morning on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway.
The unidentified woman, who was being transported to a hospital by her husband, gave birth on the shoulder of the southbound lanes near North Bristol Street off-ramp at 12:40 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
A CHP officer and Huntington Beach paramedics assisted with the delivery, authorities said.
“That’s definitely one of the ones I’ll remember for a while,” the CHP officer told City News Source.
The mother and child were transported to a local hospital.
