Man Killed In Shooting Outside San Bernardino Grocery Store

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — A man was fatally shot outside of a grocery store in the Inland Empire on Friday night.

Police received numerous calls reporting the shooting just after 9:30 p.m. outside El Super Market in the 1500 block of Baseline Street in San Bernardino.

Police say the victim, identified as 25-year-old Rafael Valencia of San Bernardino, had left the market and was walking to his car when he was approached by a man who shot him in the head.

A witness reportedly heard the shooter call out Valencia's name before he shot him.

Video footage of the crime scene showed the victim's groceries strewn across the floor.

Valencia was transported to an area hospital where he died.

Witnesses told police that the alleged shooter ran across Baseline Street through a dirt field and jumped into a car.

Police say the suspect is still on the loose and could possibly be armed.
