'A League Of Their Own' Cast Members To Attend All Girls Baseball Tournament In Compton
COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — "A League of Their Own" cast members Friday attended opening ceremonies for an all-girls baseball tournament.
The "Baseball for All – All Girls Tournament" will be held at the Major League Baseball Urban Youth Academy in Compton Friday through Sunday.
Baseball for All is an organization that provides opportunities for girls and women to participate in a male-dominated sport.
Patti Pelton, Tracy Reiner and Anne Ramsay from "A League of Their Own" are expected to attend the ceremony. All-American Girls Professional Baseball League player Maybelle Blair threw out the first pitch, and the national anthem was performed by "X Factor" star Timmy Thames.
Opening ceremonies began at 11 a.m.
