Shamalar Fields, 36, of Los Angeles, was arrested on Sept. 28 after allegedly approaching a minor, who was on foot, and soliciting a sex act. Fields has been charged with one misdemeanor count of annoying a child in connection with the crime.

Fields, who is free on bond, is employed as a public safety officer with the state of California at Exposition Park.

Anyone with information about Fields or who believes they are also a victim can contact Long Beach Police Sex Crimes Detective Louis Galvan at (562) 570-6407.
