Roof Of Single-Story Pasadena Home Collapses During Fire

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — The roof of a single-story home in Pasadena collapsed Saturday while firefighters battled a blaze inside the house.

The fire at the Craftsman-style home in the 700 block of Michigan Avenue erupted about 9:05 a.m., according to Pasadena Fire Department spokeswoman Lisa Derderian.

Upon arriving on scene, Derderian says it took crews about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze.

Derderian said the residents of the home were on vacation. No injuries were reported.

A cause of the fire remains under investigation.

During the firefight, adjacent homes were evacuated and traffic on Orange Grove Boulevard was blocked by fire trucks and hoses.
