Dodgers Merchandise Sales Skyrocket As Club Continues Pennant Race

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — As the Dodgers inch closer to their goal of winning the National League Pennant and reach the World Series for the first time since 1988, merchandise carriers are seeing an increase in business.

With all the fans showing their Dodger pride through jerseys, flags, and hats, the demand for Dodger merchandise has skyrocketed.

The Dodgers Clubhouse at Universal City Walk in Hollywood has become a hot spot for Dodger fans and post-season enthusiasts to stock up on the latest Dodger gear available.

Recent years have seen business begin to decline at the Dodgers Clubhouse around this time of year, due to the fact that the Dodgers haven't seen the post-season since 2009.

"The town has been just ecstatic for the Dodgers," Dodgers Clubhouse's Brent Lavitt said. "We've really noticed a big increase in customers coming in."

Clayton Kershaw's jersey represents the top seller for Dodger merchandise, as the young left-hander is considered an overwhelming favorite to win the National League Cy Young Award after the season for the second time.

Rookie sensation Yasiel Puig's jersey is a close second behind Kershaw's in terms of sales.
