PACOIMA (CBSLA.com) — Two people were injured, one seriously, in a multi-vehicle collision in Pacoima Monday afternoon.
The accident, which involved a trash truck, a minivan, a big rig and a school bus—with no students aboard—happened around 4:45 p.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway north of Osborne Street.
The big rig blew a tire and hit a retaining wall, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The victims did not want to be taken to the hospital.
Three lanes were closed on the southbound side of the highway in a SigAlert.
Traffic was backed up for about a mile, reaching back to the 118 Freeway.
