Body Found On Hiking Trail Near Rancho Mirage City Hall
RANCHO MIRAGE (CBSLA.com) — The body of a hiker was found Sunday on a trail near the Rancho Mirage City Hall, a sheriff's official said.
Sheriff's deputies received a call just after 10 a.m. from a hiker who discovered the body on the Bighorn Overlook trail, which sits behind City Hall, according to Riverside County sheriff's Deputy Joshua Morales.
The sheriff's forensics team was called to examine the scene. The death will be treated an unattended because there were no witnesses, Morales said.
It was not immediately known how long the body was on the trail, Morales said.
The identity of the deceased was not released pending notification of kin.
