Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Sept. 25)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The cool down continues today and temperatures will top out in the 70s at the beach and in the basin.

The marine layer is working its way back into the basin this morning.  A big trough is dropping down the west coast. It will bottom out on Thursday and that's going to kick up the marine layer and bring us some gusty winds.

A Wind Advisories for LA and Ventura countues and Wind Warnings for San Bernardino and Riverside counties will be in effect this afternoon through Thursday.

Look for the marine layer to strengthen a bit for Thursday, maybe even enough to squeeze out some drizzle.

It will be just a touch cooler on Thursday and then Friday we start to rebound.  A strong ridge of high pressure is going to build in over the weekend and that will bring us temps in the upper 80s to near 90.  We will remain on the warm side through the next work week.

Basin - mid 70s

Beaches - low 70s

Valleys - upper 70s to low 80s

Mountains - low 60s

Deserts - upper 70s
