Oxnard Father, 33, Accused Of Felony Child Abuse

OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — A 33-year-old Oxnard man has been arrested and accused of felony child abuse.

Juan Jesus Martinez was arrested by the Oxnard Police Department's Family Protection Unit.

Officials said they received information that an 8-year-old girl had been "hurt" by her father.

Detectives went to a home in the 1200 block of Isleton Place and interviewed the alleged victim around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The girl told investigators that her father was responsible for her injuries.

The injuries to the girl were not disclosed.

Martinez is being held at Ventura County Jail. His bail was set at $100,000.
