Angels Activate Kendrick Off DL

TORONTO (AP) — The Los Angeles Angels activated infielder Howie Kendrick off the 15-day disabled list before Tuesday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Kendrick has been out since Aug. 6 because of a hyperextended left knee. He landed awkwardly while trying to avoid a collision with teammate Collin Cowgill.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia says he'll work Kendrick back in slowly, limiting his time on Toronto's artificial turf. Kendrick, who's batting .301 with 11 home runs and 47 RBIs, could return to the starting lineup Friday, when the Angels open a three-game series at Houston.

Scioscia also says right-hander Jered Weaver, who experienced tightness in his forearm during the game Monday at Minnesota, remains on track to make his next scheduled start.
