West Hollywood Extends Parking Meter Enforcement Hours

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — The City of West Hollywood Tuesday began extending parking meter enforcement hours.

According to the city, the extended hours will increase the availability of meters throughout the evenings in addition to improving "traffic circulation, reduce greenhouse gas emissions from cars hunting for parking, and control prices at private parking lots and garages."

The $1 million in extra funds will be earmarked for the Sheriff's Department and private security patrols.

New hours of parking meter enforcement vary according to city region:

- Sunset Boulevard, including surrounding streets.
8 a.m. until 2 a.m. (next day), Monday through Saturday. Sundays, 11 a.m. through 8 p.m.

- Westside, including Santa Monica Boulevard, Beverly Boulevard, Melrose Avenue, Doheny Drive and surrounding streets. 8 a.m. to midnight, Monday through Saturday. 11 a.m. through 8 p.m., Sundays.

- Mid-City, including Santa Monica Boulevard from La Cienega Boulevard to Fairfax Avenue, and surrounding streets. 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. 11 a.m. through 8 p.m., Sundays.

- Eastside, including Santa Monica Boulevard from Fairfax Avenue to La Brea Avenue, and surrounding streets. 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday. 11 a.m. through 8 p.m., Sundays.
