Motorcyclist Hurt While Allegedly Evading Officers In Simi Valley

SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a motorcyclist suffered minor injuries after crashing into the patrol car he was allegedly fleeing from in Simi Valley.

A statement issued by Simi Valley police says officers attempted to stop 26-year-old Brandon Rowe of Riverside for an alleged registration violation.

Police say Rowe rode westbound at a high rate of speed on Heywood Street from Erringer Road.

At one point, "he braked abruptly and may have been about to 'high side' the bike when the officer's car collided with the motorcycle, knocking it over and ejecting the rider," the statement said.

Rowe was taken to an area hospital. He sustained minor injuries.

He was later booked on suspicion of riding under the influence of a drug, transportation of methamphetamine, and evading police, among other charges.
