SUN VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — The fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man outside a San Fernando business was under investigation Wednesday, police said.

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on Lankershim Boulevard and Tuxford Street, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Noel Ancheta was shot once in the chest and transported to Providence Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills where he died after undergoing surgery.

Ancheta was a Sylmar resident and the father of a 6-year-old girl, according to his cousin.

"He was a really nice guy. He was always there for us," she said.

Authorities said numerous suspects left the scene in several vehicles.

One person was also injured in a burglary at another business within the same complex. It was unknown if the two incidents were connected.

No suspect description was available.
