Full Containment Of Mountain Fire Expected By Wednesday
IDYLLWILD (CBSLA.com) — The 27,000-acre Mountain Fire burning in the San Bernardino National Forest was 85 percent contained Tuesday.
Crews will work to carve out 10 more miles of fire lines with full containment expected by Wednesday, the U.S. Forest Service said.
The Mountain Fire broke out July 15 near the junction of Highways 243 and 74 and has destroyed 23 structures.
More than 1,100 firefighters remain on scene.
Evacuation orders that affected approximately 6,000 residents were lifted Sunday.
