$2.3M Learjet Reportedly Tagged At Van Nuys Airport
VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — Officials are investigating the tagging of a $2.3 million Learjet at Van Nuys Airport.
LAPD says the tagging incident is believed to have happened in the early morning hours Sunday.
Authorities also believe the tagging incident was gang-related.
Pictures of the plane were posted on Twitter Friday.
The jet was reportedly vandalized with black spray paint.
Several images -- including the words "R.I.P." and "Flame" -- were painted on the plane's left front. Several initials were also spray painted on the plane's tail.
Officials estimate damage to the plane to be about $100,000.
Sources told the LA Times that the plane is registered to an aviation company based out of Malibu.
