LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police say a 40-year-old man was shot and killed on a Los Angeles street Saturday night.

Authorities said the victim was standing in the 6000 block of 2nd Avenue when another man came up and fired.

The shooting occurred about 11:45 p.m., according to Sgt. Angela McGee of the Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Street Station.

The victim — identified Sunday as Roger Lemontre Moore of Los Angeles — was pronounced dead at the scene, she said.
