LOS ANGELES ( — Detectives sought the public’s help Wednesday in identifying a robbery and assault suspect who shot a man at a Los Angeles park.

The shooting occurred shortly after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at Jesse Owens Community Regional Park, 9651 S. Western Avenue, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

The suspect was last seen fleeing the scene on his bike with the victim’s cell phone.

“The suspect is described as an 18 year-old male black, 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with short braids. He was wearing a white tank top and black shorts,” Schrader said.
