Suspect Arrested In Orange County Church Burglaries

IRVINE (CBSLA.com) — Police Wednesday announced the arrest of a suspect wanted in a series of burglaries throughout Orange County.

James Dorscht, 39, was arrested Tuesday afternoon outside of a family member's Anaheim apartment, Irvine police said.

According to authorities, Dorscht burglarized the Our Lady of Peace Korean Catholic Center in Irvine on June 10 and stole a safe.

The exact amount of cash that was taken has yet to be determined.

"Crime Scene Investigators did locate and collect fingerprint evidence consistent with Dorscht's at the scene," Lt. Julia Engen said.

Dorscht was also a suspect in two previous burglaries at the Islamic Center in Irvine and the Mandir Temple in Laguna Beach.

After his arrest Tuesday, evidence was located inside his family member's home, including cash and safe stolen from Our Lady of Peace.

Four additional suspects have also been arrested in connection with the burglary spree.
