Los Angeles Mission Hosts Job Fair For Area Homeless

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Mission will host a job fair Thursday connecting area homeless with companies looking for employees.

The 12th Annual Skid Row Career Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the mission, located at 303 E. Fifth Street, in downtown Los Angeles.

The 2013 event will draw dozens of companies and organizations looking for workers.  There will be job opportunities, training prospects and other employment services available at the event.

Employment opportunities will be offered by California Army National Guard, California Department of Transportation, Chase Bank, Double Tree by Hilton-Los Angeles/Commerce, Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, GMI Building Services, Inc., Goodwill Industries, Great Hire, Inc.. IBEW Local Union 11, InterCoast Colleges, Iron Workers 416 & 433, Kaiser Permanente. L.A. City Police Department. L.A. World Airports, MV Transportation, ResCare Home Care, Reliable Resources, SRO Housing Corporation, United Parcel Service, Universal Protection Services, US Bank, United States Marine Corps, Volunteers of America – LA, Vons (Safeway Inc.)
