Man Killed, Woman Wounded In Carson Drive-By Shooting

CARSON (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Wednesday were investigating a drive-by shooting that killed a man and wounded a woman.

The shooting happened around 9:55 p.m. Tuesday on a sidewalk at the intersection of 169th Street and Billings Drive in Carson, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

According to detectives, a SUV drove by a group of people standing outside and opened fire.

An adult male and female suffered gunshot wounds and were transported to a local hospital where the man was pronounced dead, officials said.

The female victim was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Their identities were not released.

The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Investigators believe the shooting was gang related.
