Boy, 11, Stabbed To Death In Westlake District

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — An 11-year-old boy was fatally stabbed Monday in the Westlake District, police said.

The stabbing was reported just before 9 a.m. inside an apartment in the 200 block of S. Carondolet St.

When police arrived on scene, they found Jai Shaun Lewis suffering from severe stab wounds, and the accused attacker, his 26-year-old stepfather, was also injured.

Neighbors said they heard a woman, believed to be the boy's mother, screaming "Phil, what did you do? Phil, what did you do?"

Paramedics transported the boy from the scene in cardiac arrest. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The stepfather was taken to County USC Medical Center for treatment and remains under guard until the doctor clears him to be released and booked on charges related to the boy's death.

Police are considering the stabbing a domestic incident.
