Attempted Murder Suspect Wanted For 13 Years Nabbed While Urinating In Public

COLORADO SPRINGS (CBSLA.com) — An attempted murder suspect wanted on a $2 million warrant out of Los Angeles was caught in Colorado after urinating in public, authorities announced Thursday.

Miguel Sanchez, 59, was arrested Wednesday morning in Colorado Springs, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Authorities received a report about a man urinating on the outside of a business in the 3200 block of S. Academy Boulevard around 10:15 a.m., officials said.

When officers arrived on scene, they found Sanchez, who falsely identified himself.

"Officers elected to have the subject fingerprinted," spokeswoman Barbara Miller said. "Prints revealed his identity as Miguel Sanchez. Sanchez was wanted out of Los Angeles on a 13 year-old attempted murder case with a 2 million dollar bond."

Sanchez was arrested on scene and is being held at a local jail until he can be extradited back to Los Angeles.
