Man, 21, Accused Of Murdering Infant Daughter Faces Judge

WHITTIER (CBSLA.com) — A 21-year-old man accused of murdering his 6-month-old daughter faced a judge Wednesday.

Eduardo Orozco is facing charges of murder and assault on a child causing death. He will be arraigned Monday at the Norwalk courthouse.

The 6-month-old girl died of injuries sustained by blunt force trauma.

The child was left in her father's care when she sustained the injuries, according to Deputy Lillian Peck of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.

Homicide detectives arrested Orozco Saturday at a residence in the 10800 block of Laurel Avenue in an unincorporated area of Whittier.

He is being held without bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility.

When the story was first reported, Orozco's age was erroneously given as 20.
