2 Robbery Suspects Injured Following Pursuit, Officer-Involved Shooting In Santa Ana
SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — Two suspects were injured Tuesday following a police pursuit, collision and officer-involved shooting in Santa Ana.
A female suspect allegedly stole another woman's car at gunpoint around 6:50 a.m. at Akua Moter Inn, 1018 E. Orangethorpe Ave., Anaheim police said.
The stolen car's information was put into a database, and officials picked up a Lojack signal at 11:12 a.m. at Bristol and Hesperian streets in Santa Ana.
The suspects, who were driving the stolen Toyota Camry, took Santa Ana police officers on a short pursuit before the driver crashed into a tree on 18th Street, officials said.
An officer-involved shooting occurred.
The male suspect was shot in the upper body, and the woman suffered an injury to her chin. Both suspects were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No officers were reportedly injured.
