Personal Safety Expert Offers Tips On Warding Off A Potential Attack

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The FBI says one in four women will become a victim of crime in her lifetime.

Personal safety expert and author Cathy Steinberg appeared on KCAL9 News on Saturday morning to discuss different ways to increase your personal safety and how to identify a potential attack.

Among her tips, Steinberg urges women to increase awareness of their surroundings and not to be afraid to speak up if someone is making you uncomfortable.

Steinberg also discussed the "Fearless and Fabulously Fit" program that's by women-for-women and utilizes a combination of real-world defensive techniques to get women fit.

Steinberg has authored "The Fabulous Girl's Guide to Being Fearless."
