3 Dead, 1 Wounded In Harbor Gateway Shooting

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Friday were investigating a shooting that killed three people at an apartment complex in the Harbor Gateway area.

The shooting occurred around 5:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of W. 205th Street, just south of the 405 Freeway, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Witnesses said they heard between eight and nine shots and called 911.

"There was a disturbance inside the location when the shooting occurred," Sgt. Rudy Lopez said.

When authorities arrived on scene, they found three black men in their 20s deceased inside the complex.

A fourth person was shot in the leg and found by police near the intersection of Del Amo Boulevard and Western, police said. He was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.

"We don't know his involvement is, if he's a victim or a suspect, but he has been detained for his involvement," Lopez said.

Officials do not appear to be looking for suspects, according to CBS2's Dave Lopez.

"There is no danger to the community or anyone in the area," police told the media.

No additional details were released.
