Man With Rifle Boards Metro Bus In San Fernando Valley

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A man carrying a rifle boarded a Metro bus in the San Fernando Valley Thursday afternoon.

Police responded to the area of South Brand Boulevard and Columbus Avenue in the LAPD's Mission Division around 4 p.m., according to spokesman Richard French of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The bus stopped and the passengers inside immediately got off. The man then surrendered his weapon to authorities.

It's unclear if he was arrested.
